Jun 2026 in brief.

Nineteen events and a ≥$6.05B floor across 17 disclosed — the archive’s most balanced month between M&A (seven) and financing (twelve). Motorola Solutions agreed to pay $1.5B for D-Fend Solutions, the Israeli RF-takeover counter-drone company that raised $31M on this tape in December 2024, and Booz Allen Hamilton agreed to buy Ultra I&C Mission Solutions from Advent for $720M. Arcline Investment Management was the month’s most active buyer: Continental Aerospace Technologies ($535M, piston aero engines returning to US ownership) and the $272M take-private of AstroNova. Bristow paid $105M for Berry Aviation’s special-missions fleet; Bain Capital agreed to a majority recapitalization of FDH Aero. The financing side was Europe-heavy at the top: STARK’s $567M Series C (Sequoia, Founders Fund) for loitering munitions in Berlin, ICEYE’s $520M Series F (General Atlantic) for SAR intelligence, and Isar Aerospace’s $312M Series D for sovereign launch. In the US, Impulse Space raised $500M (Series D), Mach Industries $300M (Series C), Allen Control Systems $200M (Series B) and Apex $200M in growth equity; Twenty’s $100M Series B (Accel) is the largest offensive-cyber financing on the tape, and Dominion Dynamics’ $100M Series A (Georgian) for Arctic sensing came five months after its seed.

June is the month the 2024–25 growth rounds start converting into exits and step-ups: D-Fend (financing to $1.5B exit in 18 months), Allen Control Systems ($30M Series A to $200M Series B in 15), Mach ($100M to $300M in 12), Impulse ($300M to $500M in 12), Isar and ICEYE (both raising again within a year). A sponsor buying two aerospace assets in nine days (Arcline) and a services prime buying a product company (Booz Allen) are the two buyer behaviors to underwrite for the second half of 2026.

Activity vs each domain’s own baseline.

Each cell is the number of publicly announced deals in that domain and month. Color compares the month with that domain’s own average over the months shown — not a scale shared across domains — so a dark cell in a small domain means “busy for that domain”, not “large in dollars”. Domains with fewer than 12 events in the window are shown in gray without color. Absolute totals across all 24 months are on the archive home.

No domain moved outside its normal range.

No qualifying domain changed by 30% or more this issue. We flag a domain only when its last three months differ from the prior three by 30% or more and it has at least 36 events in the trailing 12 months. Smaller samples stay as raw counts on the heat map; we never quote month-over-month percentages.

Pulse. A ≥$1.55B floor on five financings, three of them repeat raisers stepping up: ICEYE’s $520M Series F (from $175M in December), Impulse Space’s $500M Series D (from $300M in June 2025), and Isar Aerospace’s $312M Series D (after a $174M convertible a year earlier). Apex’s $200M growth round (Glade Brook, Washington Harbour) is its third $200M event in 14 months; Scout Space’s $18M Series A (Washington Harbour) funds space-domain-awareness sensors. Two European launch-and-imaging companies took 54% of the domain’s dollars.

Disclosed floor — the sum of publicly disclosed amounts only. Undisclosed deals add zero, so read every total as “at least”.

Announcement month — events are dated to their first public announcement. A close in a later month does not move the event.

Mission domain — the market the capital is buying: the investor’s thesis first, the product second. One primary domain per event.

Heat-map baseline — color compares a month’s count with the same domain’s average over the trailing 12 months shown. Grey means fewer than 12 events in the window, too few to color.
