Jun 2025 in brief.
Nineteen events, ≥$5.99B disclosed across 18 — and only one acquisition, Crane Company’s $1.15B carve-out of Precision Sensors & Instrumentation from Baker Hughes. Everything else was primary capital. Anduril’s $2.5B Series G (Founders Fund writing roughly $1B of it) was the largest venture round in the archive until Anduril’s own Series H; Helsing’s $693M Series D (Prima Materia) did the same for Europe, and Applied Intuition’s $600M Series F extended vehicle-autonomy software into defense. The next tier was space and quantum: Impulse Space’s $300M Series C, Isar Aerospace’s $174M convertible bond (Eldridge), Infleqtion’s $100M Series C, Muon Space’s $89.5M Series B1 with credit, and Xona’s $72M Series B for LEO navigation. Mach Industries’ $100M Series B (Khosla, Bedrock) for cruise missiles and distributed manufacturing, Nominal’s $75M Series B for hardware test infrastructure, and Senra Systems’ $25M Series A for automated wire harnesses filled in the industrial layer. AI, Compute & Defense Software led on count with five events.
June is the moment the defense-tech venture market bifurcated: two companies took 53% of the month’s disclosed dollars, and the remaining financings had a median size of $72M. That is the start of the platform-versus-component pricing gap that runs through 2026. The names in the middle tier carry the most comparable-set value — Impulse, Isar, Mach and Nominal all return to the tape within twelve months.
Activity vs each domain’s own baseline.
Each cell is the number of publicly announced deals in that domain and month. Color compares the month with that domain’s own average over the months shown — not a scale shared across domains — so a dark cell in a small domain means “busy for that domain”, not “large in dollars”. Domains with fewer than 12 events in the window are shown in gray without color. Absolute totals across all 24 months are on the archive home.

No domain moved outside its normal range.
No domain yet has enough history for a percentage callout. We flag a domain only when its last three months differ from the prior three by 30% or more and it has at least 36 events in the trailing 12 months. Smaller samples stay as raw counts on the heat map; we never quote month-over-month percentages.

AI, Compute & Defense Software
Pulse. The domain’s biggest month by dollars to that point (≥$1.49B) came from two companies that are not defense-only: Helsing’s $693M Series D funds its expansion from software into drones, aircraft and submarines, and Applied Intuition’s $600M Series F brings automotive-grade autonomy tooling into defense programs. Infleqtion ($100M Series C, quantum sensing and compute), Nominal ($75M Series B, test and data infrastructure) and Onebrief’s $20M Series C extension complete the set.

Method & coverage
Public sources only · Issue window = first public announcement in Jun 2025 · 19 announced or closed events (F 18 · M 1 · P 0) · Disclosed floor ≥$5.99B across 18 of 19 (5% undisclosed) · Closings of deals first announced in an earlier month are not counted again here · Capital-supply items are sidebar-only and excluded from domain statistics · Heat-map colors use each domain’s own trailing-12-month baseline.
Event codes & terms
Disclosed floor — the sum of publicly disclosed amounts only. Undisclosed deals add zero, so read every total as “at least”.
Announcement month — events are dated to their first public announcement. A close in a later month does not move the event.
Mission domain — the market the capital is buying: the investor’s thesis first, the product second. One primary domain per event.
Heat-map baseline — color compares a month’s count with the same domain’s average over the trailing 12 months shown. Grey means fewer than 12 events in the window, too few to color.
About ASC
Abelian Security Council (ASC) gives clients in defense, national security and critical technologies direct, compliant access to the people who researched, designed, built, evaluated, bought, deployed and competed with the systems they are underwriting. Pulse is the public layer of that work: a curated tape of announced financings, acquisitions and listings, compiled from public sources and published monthly. Clients can schedule a call with Owen Davies, ASC’s Chief Executive. Members can apply to join.
